Princess Fairytale Hall

With the 2012 closure of Snow White's Scary Adventures at Walt Disney World, imagineers gutted the interior of the attraction and gave a facelift to the front facade. The location would become Princess Fairytale Hall which officially opened on September 18, 2013.

This is the character greeting location for Cinderella and Rapunzel (plus two guest princesses). According to the storyline, Princess Fairytale Hall is a gift from the King to Cinderella, and acts as a place where she and other princesses can greet subjects. Here, guests can choose to meet either Cinderella and a visiting princess (most often Aurora), or Rapunzel and a visiting princess (most often Snow White). Disney Parks Blog

Two FastPass signs let park guests know which princesses are currently residing in the hall. Four characters are usually available at any one time, although if you count the princes who show up on occasion, there's even more.

The inner queue is decorated with portraits of the princesses on the walls and intricate hanging chandeliers.

There are two separate receiving rooms. Within each are two spaces, one for the resident princess and the other for the visiting royalty.

A quiet tribute to the former occupant of this building can been seen in this Snow White book prop. The text is printed in German as a nod to the original fairytale. The same collection of books is found in both receiving rooms, along with the two bookends from the Cinderella film.

The Disney Parks Blog recently announced that On April 20th, Anna and Elsa (the very popular sisters from Frozen) will be appearing together each day at the Fairytale Hall, along with regulars Cinderella and Rapunzel. Sounds like the other visiting princesses (Snow and Aurora) might get bumped to evening hours. First they take her home away. Now they make her work second shift. It ain't easy being the fairest one of all.

A wonderful benefit to Anna and Elsa moving into Princess Fairytale Hall: Snow White is mingling in Town Square now.

  1. UGH! HORRIBLE! They couldn't have found a way to put this somewhere in the New Fantasyland expansion? I still think it was wrong of them to close an original WDW dark ride. They could have at least replaced it with another dark ride.....one that would be unique to that park (and I'm not counting the Dwarf Mine Coaster as an appropriate replacement). I haven't been to WDW since 2011, but a copy of DCA's Little Mermaid attraction and a princess "meet 'n greet" isn't going to be enough to get me to go back anytime soon. However, your post on the subject is greatly appreciated, SWA! Thank you for reporting on this and giving us a peek inside!

    1. Thanks for your heartfelt comments Tokyo. It wasn't easy saying goodbye to the Scary Adventures.

  2. Typical of the Disney Company. They forget that if it wasn't for Snow White there wouldn't be ANY Disney Princesses! (or Disney Company for that matter).

  3. I firmly believe they did not need to take away SWSA. They simply could have added New Fantasyland around it, with both SWSA and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride. I'm not surprised that Elsa and Anna are being added to Fairytale Hall, but to kick Aurora and Snow out is wrong. It's supposed to be Aurora's area in the first place, and Snow is the very darn reason we have any of the Princesses...and Disney the company itself! To echo Michael haha :)

    1. I saw some recent footage of inside the Hall. Looks like Aurora is still there, sharing one of the rooms with Elsa and Anna.

    2. Oh good -- because Aurora is my favorite! I'm going to WDW in June, so I'm crossing my fingers I get to meet Elsa and Anna while I'm there, as well as Snow!
