Keeping with the Lilliputian-esque theme, artist Robert Olszewski created a set of diminutive figurines to go with the two "Enchanted Places" above. Released first in 1996 and on up through 1999, this tiny character collection included the usual, yet lovable, suspects of Snow White, followed by the dwarfs, and ending with the Witch.

Each of the nine 1" tall bronze figures was first carved in wax and encased in a solid metal mold. This mold was then heated so as to melt and drain the wax from inside. Once clear, a molten bronze was poured in and allowed to harden. The figurines were all hand-painted and retailed for $50 per piece.

  4. These are definitly my favorite WDCC items! I've always love the scenery and backgrounds in the Disney movies and it's so fun to have a 3D representation of that. I've collected several of these (figures too) and can just look them over for ages.
    Great Post!!

  5. Sheryl-- Yes it is. I like the stream running through the front like in the movie.

Tokyo-- I've said those same words myself..."I've stopped collecting....sort of." :)

Venus-- When I was a kid, I had a miniature train set with buildings and trees and such. I know that magical feeling of just 'looking them over for ages.' Fun stuff.

Fawn-- Que no tienen precio :)

  6. Wow, these are beautiful! I noticed the Cottage was sculpted by Valerie Edwards. I know she's worked on all sorts of projects with Walt Disney Imagineering for years.
