'65 Disneyland Trading Card by Donruss

Back in 1965, the Donruss Trading Card Company produced a set of 66 bubblegum cards to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of Disneyland. Each card featured a ride, attraction, or character from the park.

Snow White appeared on card #18 with the caption: "SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS WELCOME GUESTS TO FANTASYLAND IN DISNEYLAND."

Each card measured 2.5" x 3.5" and was printed on regular card stock. The backside was part of a puzzle that when put together, the complete set would form a picture of Disney characters. There was also another printing variation, though less common, where the cards had a blue back instead of the puzzle.

Here's a look at just a few of the other cards. Note the "SUMBARINE" misspelling on card #6...

    1. Lee-- I've seen a number of the cards on ebay, but they average about $10 each, some as much as $25. Not cheap if one wants the entire set.

  2. These are wonderful cards; years ago a guy at a collector's show had a complete set in great condition - the rarer "blue back" kind. I asked how much he wanted, and he almost apologetically said he couldn't go for less than $70. Just over $1 per card?! SOLD!

  3. Hi. How are you? Some days ago I left a comment on the Deja View blog and it was the first time I had done it. Now I think I have to say something about your blog too. I've been following it for quite some time and the reason I never left comments before is because sometimes I think others express themselves much better than me. All I can say is that although some days I'm very, very busy I always check your blog and I really have no words to describe it, except telling you it is wonderful! I's a joy to see your posts , read the stories and all. Thanks from Brazil!!!

    1. Pianostar-- I've seen some pics of the boarded up SWSA walls. The sign and everything are now covered up. :(

Haven't seen the "Grumpy all the way" tee. Do you have photos?

  6. I'm so sorry but I don't... I wish I did. He said it's "extremely rare" so I don't know if that's true. He said it was passed down from when Snow White was released like a hand-me-down. So I guess it's quite rare!
