Hecht Company Disney Character Displays

The Hecht Company was a department store chain in the mid-Atlantic and southern regions of the US. In the late 1930s, they incorporated Disney characters into their promotions. Not quite sure if they had permission to do so.

These one-of-a-kind hand-drawn images were used in a Christmas campaign at a store location in Washington DC. They came from the estate sale of a former company executive. The seven pieces include four of the Seven Dwarfs, each holding a gift box. The remaining pictures are of Minnie Mouse, the Three Little Pigs, and Clarabelle the Cow. Each drawing is affixed to a board which measures approximately 22" x 12.
