Snow White "Toy Town" Ad

The 1938 "Toy Town" campaign (detailed in an earlier post) was the brainchild of marketing wiz Kay Kamen. Toy departments within stores were transformed for the holidays, and Disney products featured prominently on shelves.

This newspaper advertisement for a 5 and 10 store in Ochlochnee, Georgia uses a full-page illustration of Snow White and the Prince, the Seven Dwarfs, Old Witch and forest animals to promote this "in-house" toy extravaganza. The "parade" down the page also includes Donald, Mickey, Goofy and even Santa Claus. Measures 11.5" x 17.5". The Seven Dwarfs Fruit Drops pictured in the lower right can be seen in another Archive entry.

  1. I'm sure you've seen some of those amazing sculpted "Toy Town" signs that were store displays. They have such amazing 1930's Disney flair!
