2005 Disney Catalog Storybook Lamp and Bedding

Listed in the Fall 2005 Disney Catalog was the Snow White Storybook Collection which included a lamp and bedding.



The lamp was made from hand-painted resin and measured 16" high. Original price $59.95.

The bedding included a comforter, sheets, and pillowcases. A toss pillow was also available.

Disneyland Scary Adventures Reproduction Poster

The Disneyland poster for Snow White's Scary Adventures was first put on display in 1983 near the Main Street Train Station. It commemorated the opening of the ride in New Fantasyland that year.

A reproduction of the poster was offered for sale in the 1984 Disney Family Christmas Showcase gift catalog, available exclusively to members of the Disneyland Magic Kingdom Club. The collectible lithograph measured 24" x 36" and came in two styles. The Popular Edition was printed on premium-quality poster stock and retailed for $12.50. A Collector's Edition was produced on acid-free archival-quality paper. It was limited to 150, each numbered and imprinted with an authenticity seal. Price: $200.

1956 Hungerford Doll Ad

A 1956 four-page advertisement featuring Disney dolls by Hungerford Plastics Corporation. "Made of lifelike vinyl." Snow White is included along with Cinderella, Alice, Tinker Bell, Wendy, and Tiger Lily from Peter Pan. Plus there's an official Mouseketeer doll too.

1938 Snow White Cleaning Set

A children's Snow White Cleaning Set was produced in 1938 and was listed in the wholesale catalog for L. Gould & Company of Chicago. The kit included a broom, dust mop, long-handled metal dust pan, and a metal carpet sweeper. All are lithographed with the Snow White characters. Wholesale price per dozen: $20.

Snow White and Seven Dwarfs dolls by the Ideal Toy Company, as advertised in vintage wholesale catalogs and periodicals.

  • April 1938 Playthings toy trade journal (Ideal would drop the word "Novelty" from their name in 1938). Retail price for the dwarfs is listed at $2 each. Snow White is $3 and up.

1938-39 Australian Catalog Ad

A 1938-39 catalog page for Hartleys Ltd., Australia's leading sports store. Several Snow White toys are mentioned and a set of felt dolls are pictured. A similar collection produced by Joy Toys is seen in an earlier post.

1937 Snow White Pencil Sets by Dixon

In 1937, Dixon issued several different Snow White pencil boxes. Each is made of stiff paperboard with a heavy textured "leatherette-like" covering that includes various Snow White lithographed graphics. The lid flap has a metal snap closure. Some boxes have also been seen with a carrying handle. Inside are dividers and a pull-out drawer. The interior paper covering has repeated photos of Disney Seiberling rubber figures. The boxes would have originally come with pencils, crayons, an erasure, ruler, etc. Typical size: approximately 8.5" x 4.5" x 1.25 deep. "©1937 Walt Disney Ent."

A box with a similarly designed interior was listed in a 1938 wholesale catalog from the N. Shure Co. of Chicago. The outside graphic is entirely different with Snow White standing with arms raised to her side. Price per dozen: 90¢.

Publisher's Catalog from Hachette

French publisher Hachette produced this 1939 catalog, highlighting their line of children's books and comics. Numerous Disney titles are listed including their popular Snow White book (see in next post)--from which the inspiration for the catalog cover is derived. Illustrated in blue + white and full color. Measures 6" x 8" (15 x 21cm).
