Snow White 'Four Songs' Disneyland Record 927 & 601

In the early 1970s, Disneyland Records produced a series of 33⅓ rpm LPs featuring four songs each. The first releases in this collection included the prefix "FS" in front of the catalog number, but its use was discontinued.

The Snow White album was issued in 1973. No. 927. The four songs were taken from the soundtrack featuring Adriana Caselotti and the original 1938 cast. Blue disc labels with black lettering. Retail 49¢.

Side One: With a Smile and a Song, Bluddle-Uddle-Um-Dum

'Doctor Who' Mashup Art of Karen Hallion

The artwork of Karen Hallion rocks! Her Disney-Steampunk-Star Wars-Art Nouveau-Doctor Who mashups are some of the best out there. I first learned of her work last year when I came across a Snow White steampunk piece she'd created. Yet, it wasn't until a recent visit to Orlando with author Ron Miles that I saw her Doctor Who pieces. Ron had purchased several of Karen's t-shirts including this one below.

Snow White has just survived her scary adventure through the dark forest. As the animal friends gather around, though, it's not the Dwarfs' cottage she discovers, but rather the TARDIS, the Doctor's time machine spacecraft.

Ron (wearing a Cinderella/Who) waiting in the queue line for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with his son Ben (wearing a Belle/Who) and Ben's mom, Sara.

One fan had pictures taken of himself wearing his Dr. Who shirts during all of his Disney princess meet-and-greets. See his imgur album at mritty.

A second Snow White mashup has the TARDIS (rather than the Prince) in the Queen's courtyard near the wishing well.

Just a few of the many other designs in the Fairytale Who series.

Artwork copyright Karen Hallion

Most of her work is done in Photoshop CC and with a Wacom Cintiq 21UX. Learn more about Karen Hallion and her other mashup art at her facebook page.

1967 Ideal Toy Company "Tote Bag"

This vinyl case is listed as a 'Children's Luggage and Carrying Case Tote-About' in the Merchandising Supplement from the 1967 Snow White pressbook. Suggested retail price $1.59.

Tote Promotion, 1967 Merchandising Supplement (p.9)

It's marked "Ideal Toy Company" and "Walt Disney Productions." Although the above ad does not refer to the tote as a "lunch box" per se, it probably was used in this way by many. "Measures 8.5" x 6.75" and 4.5" deep.

Original Seven Dwarfs Production Drawings

This 1937 work was produced by various Disney animators. Most of these pieces come from the personal collection of former Disney artist Joe Magro.

  • Production drawing of Dopey with candle. Graphite on 12" x 10" sheet of animation paper.

  • Dopey With Scissors.

  • All seven dwarfs at the end of Snow White's bed. Auction states this was a Marc Davis drawing. Rendered in graphite and red pencil.

  • Bashful. Graphite and red pencil.

  • Doc with deer. Graphite pencil with distinct red and green highlights. "65" written in right hand corner.

  • Grumpy. Graphite with red highlights. "111" written in the bottom right.

  • Dopey. Pencil on 16-field animation paper.

  • Four Dwarfs, right before they throw Grumpy into wash tub. Pencil on animation paper. Vladimir Tytla supervised the work on nearly every scene in this particular sequence.
