"Disneyland Line" - Thanksgiving Covers

The weekly cast member newsletter, Disneyland Line, provided employees of the park with information about the resort and the Disney Company. Snow White and Seven Dwarfs were pictured in a Thanksgiving scene on the cover of the November 24, 1983 issue. The same illustration was used again in the November 26, 1986 edition.

1987 Magic Kingdom Gazette Newsletter

The Magic Kingdom Gazette was a quarterly insider cast member newsletter. Volume 8, Issue #4 from August 1987 included articles and art by noted Disneyland cast member Stacia Martin. Snow White and her animal friends join the fun on the front cover with a mention of the 50th anniversary. Publication size: three double-sided 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper stapled in the upper left corner.

"Disneyland Line" Newsletter - 1987

In the January, 8, 1987 cast member newsletter, Disneyland Line, the upcoming 50th anniversary of Snow White was promoted with the original Time Magazine cover of Walt and the Seiberling rubber dwarfs.

In the Disneyland Line from July 16th, 1987, we find a short write-up about Snow White's Walk of Fame debut and how it was "the largest turnout for anyone receiving their star." There's also a sidebar on the restoration of the film. [Note: the cancelled stamp from the next day's 50th Anniversary festivities at the park.]

1938 Generalcine Newsletter

As we know, the 1938 theatrical release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. In Italy, however, it was issued through Generalcine, the Italian agent of RKO at the time. On the cover of the December 1938 Generalcine newsletter is the announcement of the release of the film.

1982 Halloween Cover Art for "Disney Newsreel"

This wonderful art was published on the cover of the Walt Disney Studios in-house newsletter, Disney Newsreel. This issue was published on October 29, 1982, just in time for Halloween that year.

1994 Snow White "Eyes & Ears"

Published as a way of keeping cast members informed, Eyes & Ears is an internal newsletter of the Walt Disney World Company. The October 27, 1994 issue celebrated the first-ever worldwide release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on VHS and LaserDisc.

'Disneyana Collector' Newsletter, Fall 1987

The Disneyana Collector was a quarterly subscription newsletter published by Grolier Enterprises. It featured articles on Disney artists, collectors, collectibles and news. The first issue appeared Summer 1982 and could be picked up for free at Disneyland Park in the Disneyana Shop (and at other Disney locations too). Twenty "free" issues were published ending with this last one, dedicated to Snow White's 50th Anniversary in 1987 (Volume 5, Number 6).

"Eyes & Ears" Article (50th Anniversary - 1987)

In the February 5, 1987 issue of Eyes and Ears (the WDW cast member newspaper), it was announced that the shops in the Walt Disney World Village (now Downtown Disney) would be having a "Gem of a Sale" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Snow White. The sale was scheduled to run from February 15th through the 22nd.

The piece reads, "To make the event even more sparkling, the Captain's Tower will be decked out as a diamond mine." The Captain's Tower was a free-standing hexagonal store (where Disney Pin Traders is today) with a tower above that served as focal point of the shopping district.

On the back of the postcard, it's pretty funny what the original owner wrote to his folks back home about WDW: "This is your kind of place. Except for some high class idiots, this place is alright..."

'Disneyana Collector' Newsletter, Summer 1987

Coverage of the 50th Anniversary 'Snow White Reunion' appeared on the front cover of The Disneyana Collector newsletter, Summer 1987. The two photos show Joann Killingsworth riding in a Disneyland parade, the first from Opening Day 1955, the second fifty years later.
