Canadian "Musical Notes" Dairy Glasses

The number of Snow White dairy premiums that were produced in 1938 was extension. See an earlier Archive entry for loads of examples. Among them was a series of eight tumblers decorated with character graphics and musical notes. The set that was produced for distribution in the US was seen in another earlier post.

In Canada, a similar collection of glasses with musical notes was issued for distribution by Canadian dairy producers. The character illustrations are identical to the US versions, but other details differ. The actual "notes" themselves have a different design. Plus the four-line verses describing the characters are missing. Instead, each glass now included a forest animal running around the base. Two sizes have been found: 4.75" and 4.625".

1960s Enesco Snow White Mugs

Set of eight raised ceramic Snow White mugs produced by Enesco in the 1960s. Hand-painted with glazed finish. Made in Japan. Copyright marking and manufacturer's foil sticker on bottom. Measure approximately 3.75" high. The collection also included a Snow White pitcher.

The finer paint details vary between individual mugs.

Coca-Cola Prototype Glasses

In an earlier Archive entry, we the saw the Snow White glass that was part of the Wonderful World of Disney Collector Series from Pepsi-Cola. It was issued circa 1982. Before this in 1979, Coca-Cola teamed up with McDonald's and released a set of four glasses (including a Snow White) in Canada

Lesser known, however, is the still earlier set of Snow White glasses that the Coca-Cola Company almost released. Each dwarf had his own glass and probably the princess too. Prototypes were created, but the series appears to have never made it to fruition.

These photos were found on the Antique Navigator site. Note that the Snow White title font is identical to what was used in the 1975 re-release of the film, dating the glasses to this time period.

1938 Newspaper Ad for Snow White Dairy Glasses

A Kroger supermarket ad appeared in the February 3, 1938 edition of The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune of Chillicothe, MO. The store was offering the Musical Note series of Snow White glasses, similar to ones used in dairy promotions. However, these were filled with "Embassy Peanut Butter", "Country Club Salad Dressing" or "Country Club Sandwich Spread". The price per filled glass was just 15¢.

Vintage Snow White Juice Glass

Another glass has been seen measuring just under 5" tall. Slightly altered design.

A very similar, yet different glass was also issued at some point. If you look close, Snow and the dwarfs are slightly altered and updated from the design above.
