Blanca Nieves Dairy Pitcher

A Snow White heavy glass pitcher from 1938. Blue and white character graphics, similar to others seen in an earlier post. Measures approximately 9.5" tall and weighs over 2 lbs. Produced for the Disney dairy promotional campaign. However, this pitcher does differs slightly with its ribbed spout.

In addition, it features Spanish text that reads, "Obsequio del Refresco Waterva" (A Gift of Waterva Refreshment). Snow White is Blanca Nieves. The dwarfs are labeled with their English names (as they were in the original 1938 Spanish-language version). Copyright mark: "© W.D." This was probably a premium issued for release in Mexico and other Latin American countries.

Marx Disneykins from Mexico & Coca-Cola Premiums

Louis Marx was the company behind the popular 1960s Disneykins plastic figures (learn all about them in an earlier Archive entry). Those released in the US were hand-painted. However, the same molds were used for unpainted figures issued in Mexico.

A collection of 18 different Disneykins could be had by redeeming specially marked Coca-Cola bottle caps at Sears stores or through Walt Disney comic books. The premium also included little paperboard pictures of the Disney characters. Kids could use these as color guides to assist in the painting of their Disneykin figures.

2001/2006 Spanish 'Blancanieves' Soundtrack CD (Mexico)

The first Spanish-language dub of Snow White dates from 1938. It was recorded in Los Angeles. In 1962, the soundtrack would be updated in Mexico City using new voice actors. Then in 2001, two more versions were produced, one in the Castilian Spanish dialect from Spain, the other for the Latin American audience. Both were released on separate compact discs that same year. (See the Castilian CD in next post).

The 2001 Latin American version was issued on CD that year. Walt Disney Records label. Included a CD-Rom movie trailer extra. The compact disc was then reissued in 2006 without the CD-Rom enhancement. Same cover artwork. Walt Disney Records. Made in Mexico and distributed by Universal Music Mexico, S.A.

It's interesting to note that in the first two dubs, the dwarfs' name were not translated into Spanish.
