A vintage postcard from the Disney on Parade arena show. Snow White is joined by Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, and Eeyore. Measures 4" x 7" with blank back. Dates from the early 1970s.

Disney on Parade - Event Magazine

Snow White and other cast members from the arena show, Disney on Parade, were pictured on the cover of a 1971 edition of Panorama - Boston's Official Guide Magazine (volume 22, no. 1).

Disney on Parade - Program Booklet

From the 1940s to the 60s, the Snow White story was performed on ice by the Ice Capades and the Tom Arnold troupe. The shows were quite popular, yet by the 1970s, the Disney characters had left the ice and were instead, appearing in song and dance arena shows. These were known as Disney on Parade.

The first edition of Disney on Parade premiered circa 1970. Mickey Mouse was featured on the program cover. The table of contents revealed that Cinderella was the princess of choice for this show. With each year, the performance changed, adding new characters.

In 1971, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs made it on the cover and into the show. Softcover, 28 unnumbered pages (including covers). Lots of color photos. Measures 12" x 8.375. Price $1.

In the early 1980s, the shows would leave the arena and return to the rink with the launch of Disney On Ice. These performances have continued to this day.

1949 Snow White London Stage Show - Postcards

A couple of Snow White postcards from director Harry Benet's stage production of Walt Disney's story. The small print on this first one also reads, "Presented by Teneb Productions Ltd."

1949 Snow White London Stage Show - Poster

Jack Hylton was a well-known English band leader and impresario. In 1949, he produced a London stage show based on Disney's Snow White. A poster from the period advertises it's opening at the Victoria Palace "by arrangement with Walt Disney-Mickey Mouse Ltd."

The show was directed by Harry Benet and ran from 24 December 1949 to 4 February 1950. It's listed here in The London Stage: 1940-1949 by J.P. Wearing.

1957 Snow White Operetta Script

A rare three-act operetta script (libretto) from 1957, officially licensed by Disney. Adapted from the Snow White motion picture by Norma Wilkerson. It was published for use by drama departments in junior high schools. No music is included however, only the character lines. Photos from the movie appear in back of the book.

To obtain the songs, readers are directed to purchase the record albums that were available in stores at the time.

1967-68 Snow White Stage Production in Australia

An adaptation of Disney's Snow White was brought to the stage in Sydney, Australia during the 1967-68 season. Actress, Peita Toppano, then just 16 years of age, starred as the princess. In the years that followed, she'd have quite a wide career in Australian Television, Theatre and Film. This was one of her earliest performances, though there doesn't appear to be any mention of it online among her many credits.

This original stage production program features glossy pages with slightly heavier than standard 80gsm photocopy (Xerox copy) paper. Despite being 20 pages long (including covers), only 11 pages are devoted to the actual production itself...the rest is advertising. Measures 7.187" x 9.437"

The book also came with a single insert coloring competition sheet. The artwork is clearly not from the Disney Studio, even though the show was by arrangement with the Walt Disney Company.

1979 Radio City Music Hall - Snow White Record

In 1979, Buena Vista Records released a 33¹⁄₃ rpm 12" vinyl disc featuring the original cast from the Snow White Live stage performance at Radio City Music Hall. Catalog No. 5009. Black rainbow labels. Snow White was played by Mary Jo Salerno.

1979 Radio City Music Hall - Snow White Songbook

A songbook was published in 1979 featuring the musical numbers from the successful Snow White Live stage performance at Radio City Music Hall. Included are not only the original motion picture songs by Larry Morey and Frank Churchill but also two new tunes by Joe Cook and Jay Blackton.
