From a happier time at Tokyo Disneyland...a little cookie tin measuring 5.25" across. It originally contained an assortment of chocolate chip and almond cookies and sold in the park for 800 yen.
Because the expiration date on the bottom reads 01.06.07, I first estimated the sale date of this tin to be circa 2006. But thanks to fellow blogger TokyoMagic! (see comment below), it appears that the tin is actually a few years older. "The Japanese place the year before the month and the day, so the expiration date stamped on the bottom of the tin looks like it might have been June 07, 2001"
I admit a fondness for Snow White tins and this is one of my favorites...
Tins filled with cookies or candy are very popular at the Tokyo parks. They have entire shops devoted to just tins. This SW tin is a very nice one!
ReplyDeleteWhile things have been anything but pleasant for Japan of late, they will be back on their feet. And it is one of my goals to visit their beautiful country and of course take in Tokyo DL as well. I would truly enjoy seeing these tin shops.
ReplyDeleteOn second glance at this tin, it may be older than 2006. The Japanese place the year before the month and the day, so the expiration date stamped on the bottom of the tin looks like it might have been June 07, 2001.
ReplyDeleteThanks TokyoMagic! I will update the post.
