Description of the cover from index page...
A light overview of the film on page 13.
Plus a four-page uniquely-illustrated feature by Munro Leaf (author of "Ferdinand the Bull"). Caricatures by Abe Birnbaum (who also did campaign art for M-G-M). Both text and drawings are interestingly quirky and cute.
Images and info courtesy of the Rick Payne Collection via dadric's attic. Also thanks to William Stillman for add'l info and Greg Philip of A Lost Film for an add'l image.
The June 1938 edition of Stage Magazine included a tribute to Walt Disney for his success with Snow White (see earlier archive entry).
Thank you very much for this article! I found this magazine almost 20 years ago, and framed it. It has a prominent spot in our living room. Of course, this means I haven't seen the inside for 20 years. It was great looking inside again!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome Nick. Glad you saw this post. Twenty years is a long time to wait. Thanks to collectors like Rick Payne, we're getting a chance to see some pretty cool vintage items.
