1938 Snow White Carnival Statue Set

Eight hollow plaster statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, currently up for auction at Hakes. The unlicensed figures would have been used as carnival prizes. Their size is substantial; Snow stands 15.25" tall and the dwarfs range from 8" to 9.75". All have names inscribed (on chest for Snow White, Dopey and Sneezy, on the hats of the others). They date from circa 1938.

According to the auction site, this rare complete set comes from the Eric Renner Collection, shown on page 158 of his book "American Disguise."

Special thanks to William Stillman for letting us know about this one. See another set of Snow White carnival figures in an earlier post.
