Snow White Theatre Ad from Rome, July 17, 1987

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Snow White, Disney re-released the film to theatres on July 17, 1987. It was dubbed into 15 languages and shown in 60 countries. In North America, it was a normal theatrical run, but in other regions, this screening was a special one time event set to coincide with the US celebration.

In Italy, for example, the movie was shown only in Rome and Milan, but admission was free! This newspaper ad is for the screening at the Fiamma Theatre in Rome.

That evening throughout Italy, shown on the RAI (Raiuno) channel, there was a TV show called LA NOTTE DI BIANCANEVE. It presented interviews with several of the people involved with the Italian releases of Snow White including the voice actors from the 1972 dub. Also airing that night, dubbed entirely in Italian, was the Golden Anniversary Special hosted at Disneyland by Dick Van Dyke.
