Marx 1938 Tin Wind-Up Dopey

A vintage 1938 Dopey tin toy, this piece measures 8" in height and features a fixed wind-up key on back. Turn the key and Dopey waddles along as his eyes move up and down. Great litho detailing throughout on this happy character with top of hat marked "Dopey". Back of piece marked with the Marx logo and "1938 W.D. Ent".

  2. Wow, that is pretty darn impressive! It's nice that the toy is on-model (the box art showing Dopey in profile is not).

You may be aware of this already, but McDonald's in Europe had a very cool "chain-reaction" Happy Meal toy set in 2001 (sort of like the "Mouse Trap" game). I don't have this set, but I remember seeing a picture of it. I think you need it:

There was a similar "Tarzan" set at McDonald's in the U.S.

  3. You're right Dan! I do need it...or at least I need to some close-up shots of it. Hadn't seen this Euro Happy Meal set before. Will start the search for some images and will post once I find some nice ones. Thanks for the tip.
