Markrita Collector's Box and Pin (65th Anniversary - 2002)

In 2002, the Walt Disney Gallery presented this exclusive Markrita collector's box in honor of Snow White's 65th. The figurine captures the iconic scene of Snow singing "Some Day My Prince Will Come." Sculpted by artists Mark and Rita Dornan, the piece is cast in resin and features a hidden compartment with a special wearable poisoned apple pin (also made of resin).

The figural box measures approximately 6.75" x 5.25" (17 x 13cm); Pin is about 1.25" (3cm) wide.

It was offered in the Winter 2002 Disney Catalog (p.89). Retail price: $95 (USD).

Where will you be in five years? This Markrita sculpture sure knew. In celebration of Snow White's 70th anniversary, the Bradford Exchange offered this same exact sculpt, but this time, it was hand-cast in porcelain. The free poison apple pin was back too! The piece was hand-numbered with a matching Certificate of Authenticity. Original retail price $149.95.

  1. That sure is an awkward look on Snow White's face dead on. Kind of look like she's braying like a donkey...

  2. Aubrey-- I hadn't thought of it that way before, but you do have a point.

  3. What ever did happen to Mark and Rita, I loved the Markrita line - seemed to just disappear pretty fast.

  4. NotBad-- The last I heard, they were running Dornan, Inc. in NJ. Still doing sculpting work but not sure if it's for Disney anymore.
