Snow White Main Street Emporium Windows

The Main Street Emporium at the Disney theme parks is known for it's fanciful window displays which feature scenes and characters from the classic films.

The tradition of using animated window figures on Main Street started at Disneyland in the 1960s. These window "books" give a little history...

This Disneyland Emporium diorama has been on exhibit since the 50th anniversary of the park in 2005. It features the original figures that were used years ago in early window displays. Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio and Peter Pan are represented here...

The animated Snow White figure kisses Dopey good bye in front of the cottage door. In the foreground, Cinderella raises her foot for the Grand Duke to fit the glass slipper...

At Walt Disney World, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs all have their own individual Emporium window...

The Snow White crew re-enact their Silly Song merriment...

A film synopsis plaque sits below the scene...

Snow White spins around as she "dances" with a moving Dopey and Sneezy. Happy sways back and forth in the background...

Doc holds a stringed instrument behind Grumpy who's hands move upon the organ keys...

Sleepy and Bashful are perched atop the stairs...

I shot a short video clip of this scene back in February of 2011...

  1. Yes! I LOVE photos of all the window displays at Disney. I was so thrilled to see a post about them.

Fantastic photos! You made my day.

  2. I also LOVE the Emporium window displays, but I wish they would update the ones at Disneyland. I think this might be the longest they have ever gone without changing them. They missed the perfect opportunity when Rapunzel was released. Now that I think of it....it probably would have cost the company too much money to create some new scenes. Maybe we'll have these same displays until the park's 100th anniversary. But hey, I'm not bitter.....

Oh, and I don't know how I missed WDW's window displays when I was there in October! Do you happen to know how old their displays are? Have they stopped changing theirs too?

  3. Kristin-- Glad you liked it. I was amazed at how little is written online about the Emporium window displays. There is some info and pics out there, but not as much as I thought there would be.

Tokyo-- Not exactly sure how long these WDW window displays have been there. Surprisingly, it's been kind of difficult to find that information.

  4. Yep, exactly. I did a search for the window displays a while back and all I found were the Mickey's Christmas Carol displays. Some pictures and video. It is a difficult spot to take photos from (/c of the crowds) and I guess a special camera is a must. I've tried taking pics of them before, and my camera even has a special setting for glass windows. Unfortunately, it was a useless feature.

I think that's a big part of the fun of Disney though. The creative window displays and just browsing all the shops. I wish I were going there this coming October. It's my favorite time of year to visit.
