1939 Menier Chocolate - "Sticker" Albums (vol. 1 & 2)

The 1939 Menier Chocolate "sticker" card promotion (see details in previous post) included two 20-page albums with numbered spaces for 90 cards each.

Volume One tells the Snow White story from the beginning up to the point where the dwarfs arrive home to find "something" upstairs in their bedroom.

Volume Two picks up where the dwarfs meet Snow White and ends as the movie does with the kiss and 'Happily Ever After'.

When an album was completed, you could send it to Menier, and they would return it stamped along with a gift. If you sent both albums, then you got a better gift, usually books. And there was an added contest where you could win one of 200 prizes (e.g., movie or picture camera, bikes, toys, etc.). All you need do is include a reply to the question, "Why is Menier Chocolate you favorite?" This was valid until January 1, 1940.

Stamped on the cover of this album is an end date to the card promotion...April 15, 1940.

Special thanks to Greg Philip of A Lost Film for sharing information and images from his collection.
